Definition

The percentage of impressions that result in a click, calculated as clicks divided by impressions.

Click-through rate, or CTR, measures how compelling your search listing is by dividing clicks by impressions and expressing the result as a percentage. It is heavily influenced by ranking position, the relevance of the title and meta description, rich results and how much of the answer is satisfied on the results page itself. Comparing a page's actual CTR with the expected rate for its position highlights opportunities to rewrite titles, add structured data or better match search intent.
