AI visibility for aesthetic clinics

Britain's most AI-visible sector. And still only one clinic AI is ready to recommend.

When someone asks ChatGPT for a qualified, reputable clinic for injectables or laser, it names the clinics whose training and treatments it can actually read. Of 1,567 UK aesthetic clinics we checked, aesthetic clinics score higher than any other sector - yet just one clears the bar. SearchScore shows you where you stand, free and with no email.

The short version

Aesthetic clinics are the most AI-visible sector in Britain - a mean AI Search Score of around 56, higher than any other trade we have measured. Yet of 1,567 UK clinics, only one is AI-Ready. For injectables, skin and laser, people ask AI for a "qualified" and "reputable" practitioner, and a cautious AI only recommends clinics whose qualifications it can read as plain text. Most clinics let AI in but never name their expert or tag their FAQs - the two signals worth the most points. SearchScore scores your AI Search, SEO and conversion, and shows you what to fix. The new front door

When someone asks AI for a clinic, do you pass the safety filter?

These are the kinds of questions people now type into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok and DeepSeek instead of scrolling Google. For injectables and skin work, notice how many of them are really asking one thing: is this practitioner qualified and safe?

"Who's a qualified, medically trained practitioner for lip and cheek filler near me?"
"Which local skin clinics are reputable and have a doctor or nurse on site?"
"Where can I get laser hair removal done safely by a trained clinician?"
"I want anti-wrinkle injections from someone properly insured and registered - who's good?"
"Best clinic for Profhilo or skin boosters with real before-and-after results?"

Injectables and laser sit under a safety filter that a haircut never does. The clinic whose qualifications, register and named practitioner are readable wins the answer by default - because the AI can prove, in text, that recommending you is the safe choice.

What gets scored

Three things decide whether you get booked. We score all three.

Most tools only look at one. For a clinic, being recommended is no use if the visitor can't find your qualifications, prices and a consultation route - so we measure that too.

Built for how a clinic works

You're a clinic, not an e-commerce store.

Medical-service scoring

A clinic lives on trust, consultations and outcomes - not whitepapers and lead funnels - and the scoring reflects that. SearchScore measures what matters for a regulated aesthetic practice: whether your treatments and prices are readable, whether the qualified practitioner and their register are named on the treatment page, and whether booking a consultation is one tap away. You're not marked down for being a clinic instead of a software company.

We ran every clinic through the same free audit you can. These are the headline findings - clean, quotable, and the reason the safety filter matters so much for this trade.

What clinics score well on - and what they don't

Category Average /100
Technical basics (strongest)81
Easy for AI to quote74
Topic coverage73
Platform setup62
Expertise & trust52
AI-platform readiness44
Labelled information41
Brand authority (weakest)38

The strength is technical: clinic sites load, work and are easy for an AI to quote. The weakness is trust the AI can read - brand authority is the weakest category at 38. Clinics let AI in (94 to 96% of them do) but never hand it the proof it needs. Only 15% name a qualified practitioner an AI can read; only 3% tag their FAQs with schema.

The maths is generous. Naming your expert - the practitioner, their register and training - is worth about 12 points on your AI Search Score, and adding FAQ markup is worth about 13 points. And 60 clinics already sit just below the line at 70 to 80. For most of them, those two fixes are the difference between "Strong" and being the clinic AI recommends. The leaders already do it: 51% of top clinics name a practitioner in text versus 7% of the rest, and 21% use answer schema versus 4%.

What holds clinic sites back

What holds aesthetic clinic sites back.

None of these mean you've done anything wrong - they're the trust signals AI quietly looks for and rarely finds. The audit tells you which apply to you.

1
Your qualified practitioner is invisible to AI.

Only 15% of clinics name a qualified practitioner in text an AI can read. If the doctor, nurse or trained clinician behind your injectables isn't written on the treatment page - name, register, training - the cautious answer to "who's qualified and reputable?" skips you. Naming them is worth about 12 points.

2
Your FAQs aren't tagged.

Only 3% of clinics tag their FAQs with schema. Clients ask AI the same safety questions every time - downtime, side effects, who performs the treatment - and answer markup hands those answers straight to the engine. Adding it is worth about 13 points, and almost nobody in the sector has done it.

3
Brand authority is thin where it matters.

Brand authority is the weakest category across the cohort at 38 out of 100. Consistent details, real reviews AI can read, register memberships and press cited in text are what tell an AI you're an established clinic rather than a pop-up. Most clinics leave this proof off their own site.

4
The price list is a PDF or a photo.

Treatment menus uploaded as images or downloads can't be read, quoted or compared by AI. Prices for consultations, filler, toxin or laser courses in plain text on a page get cited; the same prices inside a graphic don't exist to the engine.

5
Every page sounds like every other clinic.

"Bespoke treatments in a luxury setting" describes thousands of clinics. AI matches specifics: the named practitioner and their register, the exact treatment protocol, the town you serve. Generic reassurance is the easiest thing for an AI to pass over.

Common questions

Clinic owners ask us, answered.

Do people really ask AI to recommend an aesthetic clinic?

Increasingly, yes - and for injectables and skin treatments they ask AI to filter for safety. Queries like "find a qualified, medically trained practitioner for lip filler near me" are exactly the moment a recommendation is made. When someone asks ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini for a reputable clinic, the AI names the clinics whose qualifications and treatments it can actually read as plain text. SearchScore shows you whether that's you, free and with no email.

My clinic ranks well on Google - why wouldn't AI recommend me?

Because AI engines read differently. In our study of 1,567 UK aesthetic clinics, 94 to 96% let AI crawl their site, yet only one cleared the AI-Ready bar. The gap is trust that AI can parse: only 15% named a qualified practitioner an AI could read, and only 3% tagged their FAQs with schema. Ranking on Google does not guarantee that ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok or DeepSeek can see your qualifications and quote them back.

What is the single biggest thing holding aesthetic clinic websites back?

Trust signals the AI cannot read. Across 1,567 clinics, brand authority was the weakest category at 38 out of 100, and only 15% named a qualified practitioner in text an AI could extract. Naming your expert - their register, training and the practitioner behind each treatment - is worth about 12 points on your AI Search Score, and adding FAQ markup is worth about 13. Both are things a cautious AI looks for before it recommends anyone for injectables or laser.

Do I need technical skills to use SearchScore?

No. The audit is built for clinic owners and practitioners, not developers. You get plain-English scores and a prioritised list of what to fix. If you would rather not do it yourself, the done-for-you service makes the changes for you.

Is the audit really free?

Yes. You get your full diagnosis - your AI Search Score, SEO Score and conversion score, plus what is holding you back - free, with no email required. Ongoing tracking starts from $25/month, and the done-for-you service is optional.

How close is a typical clinic to being AI-Ready?

Closer than most owners think. Aesthetic clinics are the most AI-visible sector in Britain, with a mean AI Search Score of around 56, and 60 clinics sit just below the line at 70 to 80. For most of them the missing points are a named, qualified practitioner and FAQ schema - together worth about 25 points. The free audit shows you exactly how far you are and what to fix first.
