SearchScoreBot

Last updated: 15 October 2026

If you found SearchScoreBot in your server logs, it is the website audit run by SearchScore. It reads public pages to check how well a site is set up to be found and recommended by search engines and AI assistants.

What it fetches

Your homepage, your robots.txt and sitemap, a few pages linked from your homepage, and a small number of pages a site usually has, such as about, contact, privacy, terms, FAQ, pricing and reviews. It stops asking for those as soon as it has what it needs, and stops straight away if your site refuses a request. A page that does not exist is simply skipped. It does not ask for more than a few pages from one site at the same time.

Those standard pages are guesses rather than links, so it only asks for them where your robots.txt allows it. A User-agent: SearchScoreBot group is used if you have one, otherwise your User-agent: * rules.

It only reads what any visitor can see. It does not log in, submit forms or try to reach anything that is not public.

How it identifies itself

The check that looks at your site the way a search crawler would sends this user-agent:

Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; SearchScoreBot/1.0; +https://searchscore.io/bot/)

Most other requests in an audit are made the way a visitor's browser would make them, so they carry an ordinary browser user-agent. Some load the page in a real browser to see what a visitor sees.

Stop it auditing your site

Email [email protected] with your domain and we will exclude it from future audits. If you think it has caused you a problem, tell us at the same address and include a log line or two so we can find the requests.
