GPTBot is OpenAI's training-oriented crawler. Site owners can allow or block it through robots.txt to express whether public content may be used in model improvement or training. GPTBot is not the crawler OpenAI tells publishers to allow for ChatGPT search discovery: that role belongs to OAI-SearchBot. Blocking GPTBot therefore does not, by itself, remove a site from ChatGPT search eligibility.
