Definition

The number of times your pages appeared in search results for users' queries.

In Google Search Console, an impression is counted each time a link to your site is shown in the search results, whether or not it is clicked or scrolled into view. Impressions measure visibility and demand, indicating how often you are eligible to be seen for the queries you rank on. Rising impressions with flat clicks often signals a click-through or positioning problem, while falling impressions can point to lost rankings or shrinking search demand.
