Telling Google via a submitted file to ignore specific backlinks when assessing your site.

The disavow tool lets site owners submit a list of URLs or domains that Google should discount when evaluating their link profile. It is a specialist remedy intended chiefly for recovering from a manual unnatural-links action or a clear pattern of self-made spammy links. Because Google already neutralises most bad links, disavowing should be used sparingly and carefully, as mistakenly disavowing good links can remove legitimate authority.
